Huge ice bastions of the Castle Berg (Clissold at base)Ponting named this ice formation Castle Berg. He persuaded Thomas Clissold to pose for him, but at one point, the cook fell and suffered a concussion, giving Ponting a considerable fright. The injury sustained was serious enough to prevent Clissold from accompanying the motor party on the early stage of the Southern Journey.
